Outstanding cuisine

When you sail from Newcastle to Amsterdam onboard King Seaways you have a wide choice of food to enjoy. Enjoy freshly baked bread with breakfast and dinner, home-made by our resident baker onboard. If you find it difficult to decide what to have for dinner, you can try a bit of everything at Explorer’s Kitchen, our international buffet restaurant with a wide range of dishes catering for every taste. From hearty stews to delicious pizzas, light salads to spicy curries, there is something for everyone in Explorer’s Kitchen.

If you’d prefer something more special, our à la carte restaurant, North Sea Bistro offers a choice of beautifully prepared starters, mains and desserts, all using locally sourced, fresh produce.

For breakfast you can head back to Explorer’s Kitchen for a choice of cooked and continental cuisine or if you opt to stay in our Commodore cabins, you could even have breakfast in bed.

For an alternative breakfast you can pick up a Starbucks coffee and pastry at our Coffee Crew café before disembarking and heading into Amsterdam or further afield to explore.

Top entertainment

There is plenty to keep you busy onboard including two cinemas showing a choice of films throughout the evening, a troubadour playing in the Navigators Bar and a live band playing in the Columbus Club which is open until the early hours. If you’re feeling lucky you can visit our onboard casino or if you would just like to sit back with a drink and watch the sunset over the North Sea, the rooftop Sky Bar will not disappoint. Our Lounge style Compass Bar is the ideal place to unwind too, with a choice of drinks and snacks. There is delectable selection of spirits to choose from too, including a whisky made specially just for DFDS, which you can also purchase in the shop.

Stop by our Sea Shop, with savings of up to 30% off high street prices. With a wide selection of spirits, fragrances, clothing and technology, you’re sure to find something you like. We even offer whisky tastings on selected crossings, hosted by our resident whisky expert. Sweets, toys and books will keep the little ones happy too.

Fun for the family

If you’re travelling as a family, there are great family facilities onboard, including a Pirates’ Island play area, children’s entertainer on selected crossings and several arcade games to enjoy.

Our unlimited baggage allowance means you can pack as much as you like, including everything you need for the little ones too. Spend quality time together onboard with a trip to the cinema or a meal together. We have children’s menus in both of our restaurants and kids under 3 dine for free!

Wildlife watching

During the summer conservation charity, ORCA, offer wildlife watching experiences onboard. Learn all about the marine life in the North Sea and get those binoculars out to spot some sea life for yourself. In the past we’ve had sightings of porpoises, seals and dolphins swimming alongside our ships!

A place to rest your head

After spending the evening enjoying everything our ship offers, return to your cabin to rest your head on the plump pillows and fresh linen, ready for a good night’s sleep before your arrival into Ijmuiden the following morning.

All cabins are en suite and we have a choice of sea-view and inside cabins. We have cabins with bunk beds big enough for families of four or five, double bed cabins or bunk bed cabins for two. We also have several disabled cabins with wider doors and an accessible en suite bathroom.

If you want to bring your pet on holiday with you, it’s easy when you travel with us. We offer pet friendly cabins where your pet can stay with you in your room or a ‘Pet Hotel’ where they can stay in kennels onboard and you can visit them at regular intervals.

If you fancy upgrading, our Commodore cabins offer a more premium experience, with spacious rooms, sea views, a complimentary breakfast, TV and a free mini bar. For something even more special our Commodore de Luxe cabins are our largest and most luxurious cabins and will most certainly guarantee you will sail in style. Not only will you enjoy all the facilities of the Commodore cabins, you will have access to complimentary refreshments and stunning sea views in the Commodore Lounge, plus a complimentary hot buffet breakfast. You can even have breakfast in bed if you wish – a true hotel experience.
