A Museum with a Difference

September 18, 2014

You’re going to Amsterdam and you would like to do something different than visiting the normal museums/attractions? Then the House of Bols museum is a very good alternative, especially when you love cocktails! Moreover, it is very easy to find being located on the museum square where you will find the famous Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.

This museum will tell you everything about Bols liqueurs and genever, & is one of the world’s oldest brands. One of the first things you’ll see when starting the tour through the museum is the full collection of these houses.

I personally visited the museum a couple of weeks ago with my friends and we had a great time. We spend quite some time in the “Hall of Taste” where you can smell all the different flavours and then guess which flavour it actually is reaching from strawberry to lemon, coconut to peppermint and many more. They’ll have 38 flavours for you to smell and you’ll definitely find out how good you are in guessing these different flavours.

The tour ends at the “Mirror Bar” where you can actually try out 2 shots and 1 cocktail which is all included in your entrance fee. Of course if you like the cocktails so much you can try out as many more as you like…
