Mini-moons are becoming ever more popular and are the perfect getaway after your big day. With so many fantastic destinations and holiday ideas right on your doorstep in Europe, you can have a romantic mini-moon with minimum effort.
A DFDS short break provides the perfect mini-moon, bringing together all the classic romantic elements on one holiday.
Why choose a DFDS short break?
You can choose a mini cruise, which includes 2 nights onboard one of our Newcastle-Amsterdam ferries, along with a day exploring Amsterdam. However, you could extend your trip to a cruise & stay or hotel break, enjoying up to 3 nights in Amsterdam, or another city of your choice.
The cruise experience
Your ticket includes en suite accommodation onboard, but you could also upgrade your cabin to one of our premium options. A Commodore cabin gives you that extra bit of luxury, with steward service, complimentary breakfast. Upgrade to Commodore De Luxe and enjoy access to the private Commodore De Luxe lounge on our KING Seaways ferry.
You can also enjoy a romantic evening meal together, with choices such as the Blue Riband restaurant for fine dining, and the Explorer’s Steakhouse for something sizzling.
After dinner you can take a stroll on deck to watch the sunset, or relax with a cocktail and some live entertainment in wide choice of bars. You could even take part in a wine or whiskey tasting class together. There’s even a cinema showing the latest blockbusters, and a casino if you fancy trying your luck.
Our Amsterdam mini cruise departs from Newcastle and provides an overnight crossing to the Netherlands, giving you time to enjoy an evening meal and the onboard facilities before arriving the next morning.
You can spend the day exploring the city and its best attractions before sailing back to the UK, or you can choose to extend your visit to the Netherlands with a hotel. Amsterdam has plenty to offer for an extended visit, or you can explore further afield to Haarlem, Utrecht, and The Hague, especially if you take your own car.
