What to expect

  • Summer holiday season has officially arrived! That means there are a lot of lovely people heading over the Channel, so please allow 90 minutes to complete the check-in process at port.
  • Stock up on plenty of water so you don’t caught out in the summer heat.
  • Bringing any furry friends along? Make sure to exercise them before boarding. You can speak to a member of our team at Guest Services about visiting your pet during the crossing.
  • Make sure to have your passport ready and open at the photo page to get you through checkpoints as quickly as possible.
  • Our Twitter page @DFDSUKUpdates is the best way to keep up to date with live port and sailing updates. Alternatively, visit www.dfds.co.uk/updates.
  • Check out the onboard Sea Shop for fantastic offers on designer goods, cosmetics, alcohol and more, as well as any travel essentials you might’ve forgotten.
  • Hungry? Car Lane Kaz firmly recommends the fish and chips or full English breakfast to set you up for your journey ahead.

Our favourite story so far…

The Face Plant

With the sizzling, southern sun beating down upon the tarmac at Dover port, passengers were taking full advantage, leaning against their bonnets as they got their daily dose of vitamin D.

Committed to taking care of all customers, Car Lane Kaz stepped out in a fresh pair of size 5 safety boots that may have not yet been entirely worn in…

About to take a confident stride towards the sun-drenched customers, Kaz was caught unawares and found herself face-to-face with the very tarmac the sun had spent the morning heating up. Yes, in front of over 200 passengers, Kaz collapsed like a freshly felled tree.

In true gallant style, Kaz stood up, dusted herself off, and took a modest bow to a crowd of thoroughly entertained passengers.
