Discover Sweden Together

Sweden makes a fantastic destination for a family holiday, with lots of kid-friendly sights and attractions to enjoy. From rugged mountains to elegant cities, this beautiful country is overflowing with Scandinavian charm.

Whether you’ve got young kids or teenagers, Sweden’s tourism industry is largely geared towards families. Most attractions and museums offer reduced admission for under 18s, and many feature interactive exhibits and activities to entertain little ones.

Stockholm

The capital of Sweden provides lots of great attractions to choose from, with stunning 18th century palaces and medieval streets, as well as nearly 100 museums to explore. The National Museum of Science and Technology is ideal for kids, with plenty of exciting exhibits and experiments to get stuck into.

You could also travel up the world’s largest spherical building, the Ericsson Globe, in one of the SkyView gondolas. Reminiscent of the London Eye, these glass globes rise up the side of this landmark building, reaching 425 feet at its peak, giving you an incredible view over the city.

Visit the oldest open air museum in the world at Skansen, and walk through five centuries of Swedish history and culture. The museum essentially creates a miniature of Sweden, with regional architecture and traditions all recreated along winding pathways and gardens. There’s even a zoo featuring Scandinavian wildlife including wolves, lynx, and otters.

Gothenburg

This relaxed nautical city is filled with both fun and educational attractions. The Natural History Museum will delight audiences of all ages with its collection of animals and nature exhibits, including the world’s only stuffed blue whale.

Gothenburg is also home to Sweden’s the immensely popular, Liseberg. This amusement park attracts 3 million visitors annually and features a range of rides from big thrills for older kids, to enchanting rides and amazing experiences for little ones.

Malmö

Indulge in childhood fantasies at the Malmo Chokladfabrik. See delicious chocolate creations being made in this famous factory, and, more importantly, enjoy a discount in the factory shop.

For a wide selection of museums to cover all interests, head to the Malmohus Slott in the old heart of the city. These fortifications contain everything from military history to transport and even an aquarium.
